How we work

Using SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework, the approach used for project ScreenAgers engageS community stakeholders in a process of needs assessment and strategic planning to address the unique needs and cultural characteristics of Latino youth, ages 9-20 who are at high risk for substance abuse, including alcohol, marijuana and opioids.  Our project brings together culturally competent, evidence base programming, along with a strong partnerships with two local minority serving college institutions and successful social media strategies developed as part of our SAMHSA New Media grant effort.  Through a combination of direct prevention and indirect environmental strategies, address gaps in services for Latino youth and young adults.
