The East LA Society of Film and Arts (TELASOFA) was started in 2005 as a program of Bienvenidos Children’s Services while filming Needle Juice. The film dealt with drug abuse and gang involvement. The director and producer needed extras from the community and the producing team enlisted the community of East LA. They were giving with their time and space. It’s a film that could not have gotten made if it wasn’t for East LA.

TELASOFA is a collaborative of artists of all mediums contributing time in their field of expertise to give back to youth of East LA.
