The East LA Film Festival 2009.

East LA Film Festival 2009 was in honor of Alexis Echavarria. Every year we honor the memory of this young filmmaker whose storytelling through his film “18 Minutes” touches many of the issues affecting our youth today.

The Vapers

The East LA community came together to produce a vaping prevention short vignette. Juan Escobedo rehearsed with the kids and worked with the families to be able to produce The Vapers. Juan Escobedo, founder of TELASOFA and Casa Cultural Saybrook Park has had a long standing partnership since 2008. This is a collaboration with funding from Bienvenidos, SAMHSA and Ignition Creative.
